Katya’s Erotica News

My writing year is off to a flying start, with great interest since my Christmas promotion, another paperback available, and a new listing in my Work in Progress.

I was delighted by the response to my three-book promotion for a few days in December. Not only did those three titles prove popular at the lower price, but others in my catalogue have been showing sales since then.

Early in December I mentioned that More Than a Sex Therapist was available as a paperback, and I was keen to publish more of my work in that format. Rather than simply convert each title, I’ve chosen to select a single book novel, and a two-part novel to join my first novella paperback.

Girls With Extra: Parts 1 and 2 is now available as a touchy-feely book as well as the original two separate eBooks. As with the first paperback, and the others I’ll produce, I’m aiming to make the cover subtle, so the graphic is smaller than normal and not a glaring naughty image.

Curvy Girl, or Chubby Guy? will be my next offering in paperback. I had hoped to reread it, make amendments, and complete the conversion this month, but other things have prevented me. If all goes well, I’ll publish and let you know in my February news.

I’ve added a new title to my Work in Progress. When inspiration comes, I tend to get the idea out of my head and into words as quickly as possible. I create a working title, cover, and blurb, and invariably write an introductory chapter. This helps me because I move from one project to another often, and only when I’m drawn to a story, do I push on and get that one done.

Novella

My latest title is Boys will be Girls, and apart from the first chapter, I’ve already made copious notes about how the story will evolve.

Thank you all for your continued support.

It was great last year to see so many people taking advantage of the price reduction I made, so I’m setting a temporary price drop again to promote three titles:

Kinks and Queens, My Feminine Side: Part 1, and Big Girls: and other erotic stories.

Having checked the length of my individual books, I’ve now decided on the next titles to be produced as paperbacks. I’ve already created and published the physical edition of More Than a Sex Therapist, which is a novella of about 70k words.

My next paperback will be Girls with Extra: Parts 1 & 2, so the two-part digital version will be available as a single paperback book. This will be a novel of about 120k words. The third title to become available as a paperback edition will be Curvy Girl, or Chubby Guy?, which will be around 98k words.

I expect to have all of these new editions on my Amazon Author page by January 2023. From that point, I’ll react to the sales and popularity of particular titles unless readers get in touch to request that a certain eBook is available as a paperback.

Thank you for your continued support, and remember, you can keep warm with a hot erotica story.

Lost and Found is now available.

The idea of featuring Kinks and Queens, an adult-only website in a number of stories has worked well, and as I said previously, any tale with the website appearing throughout will have a ‘Featuring Kinks and Queens’ strap-line on the cover.

The next book connecting a few of the characters who use the website will be Dressed to Thrill, due publication in January 2023.

Again, as I’ve said, the books are not a series … each is a standalone.

I have other Work in Progress, but it will depend on feedback whether or not I involve the characters with the other books and the website idea.

I’m considering the option of publishing my titles in paperback but to test the idea I might produce a handful of titles to see if there were any interest.

I’d be keen to hear the opinion of you guys out there.

Thank you for your continued support, and the occasional private message.

Kinks and Queens is now available. This story features a mature man and his personal voyage of discovery when he registers with an adult-only website. The book is a novella and a standalone, but there will be connections between some of the characters appearing here and in two, possibly three, upcoming stories.

The related books will also each work as a standalone, so this is not a series. Any tale with connecting characters will have a ‘Featuring Kinks and Queens’ strapline on the cover.

As ever, I thank you all for your continued support of my brand and for making my erotic literary efforts successful.

If you can’t wait to get to the story, here are quick links for you:

Update on 8th November 2022

Having considered the connection between Kinks and Queens and other novellas which will be published over the next three or four months, I decided it would be beneficial to my readers to use a strapline on this title.

The strapline here states ‘Introducing Kinks and Queens’, and on any other title that brings the fictional website into play, the strapline will say, ‘Featuring Kinks and Queens’.

As I said before, the number of stories to bring in characters using the website will depend on feedback. If you like the idea, please let me know.

In my August update, I mentioned my maintenance of more than one Work in Progress. The practice has proved useful, and creates the opportunity to introduce characters in more than one book.

Kinks and Queens is the title of my latest Work in Progress. It will feature a mature man and his personal voyage of discovery when he registers with an adult-only website. This book will be a novella, and a standalone, but it will provide a connection between characters appearing in other stories.

The other books, while featuring some of the characters and information will each work as a standalone. This will not be a series. At present, the other related books will be Lost and Found, and Dressed to Thrill. They will have a ‘Kinks and Queens’ strapline on the cover.

I sincerely hope that the idea appeals to my readers, and I’ll work hard as usual to ensure that there is plenty of imagery and dialogue to support the action. It would be a considerable help if you were to share your thoughts on the idea, either in a review, or via my Contact page.

I’m aiming to publish Kinks and Queens by the end of October.

As ever, I thank you all for your continued support of my brand, and for making my literary efforts successful.

Novella

I have five stories in my Work in Progress, and I’ve used older people as the main characters in two of them. They are involved in their pastime secretly, mainly because of their regular lifestyles, just like in the real world.

Novella

In the other tales, the characters are introduced to the general LGBTQ scene differently. They find themselves, like many others, with the same worries about acceptance, how far to go with their alter-ego, and the constant issue of whether or not they will find fulfilment and some sort of regular lifestyle.

Readers might wonder how prolific I appear to be, noting that I seem to have a regular flow of story ideas. Some authors, irrespective of their chosen genre, are content to work on a single book, and until that is completed and published, they don’t spend time on anything else. It’s a good method, but I don’t work that way.

Novella

I toyed with the idea of becoming an erotica author for quite a while before it became my passion. I had started and stopped several projects, wondering if I’d ever see something through to completion. After much soul-searching and consulting with the author who would become my mentor, I finally produced my first book. He suggested that I should always have more than one story on the go, allowing me to move from one to another easily.

Novella

He once wrote in his blog that an author, or someone aspiring to be one, should hold onto all their notes, ideas, and unfinished stories. Thankfully, I remembered those wise words.

Much of what has now become my catalogue has evolved from fresh ideas, mixed with resurrected notes and segments of incomplete work I’d saved and filed over quite a while. As you might expect, I occasionally slip in a scene which is based on personal experience, but I’m not about to highlight those.

Novella

The categories of my work are not accidental but chosen after reading a range of erotica and investigating popular themes. One major difference between my tales and that of some of my contemporaries is that I don’t only write sex scenes; I produce a ‘story’ as a vehicle for sexual adventures.

I’m delighted to say that I now have a following after a couple of years of effort and regular output. I’m grateful to all of you out there for every copy of every book I see sold or borrowed on Kindle Unlimited, and I’ll go on until that interest wanes.

Click on any of the covers above to see the blurb for the story.

Much love to you, all my friends.

p.s. I’ve updated this news post with another idea added to my Work in Progress.

Available came to mind while I was walking in the countryside, and the story idea blossomed, so I had to create a cover and blurb while it was all still clear.

Katya News

More Than a Sex Therapist is now available for you to enjoy. It was, as I said before, intended to be a novella, but as sometimes happens, the characters got carried away and the word count soared beyond forty thousand words to reach seventy thousand words. I hope this isn’t a disappointment to my regular readers.

As mentioned in my July post, my next offerings are all intended to be novellas, and to retain control over length, apart from character creation, plot and the other ingredients, I’m setting out specific scenes in advance for each book. This is an idea I considered previously, but didn’t use because I wanted to let the stories unfold and take as long as felt comfortable. If nothing else, it will be an interesting test of will.

All four of my Work in Progress are underway, so as usual, the one which captures my attention the most will be the next for full-time writing. My aim is to produce one more title before the end of the year.

Thank you for your generous support, and special thanks to those who provide me with feedback via comments, reviews of my books or private feedback via my Contact page.

Katya News

During the periods when a new story is resting between edits, I sketch out the plot for my next ideas. Like everyone in our modern world, I sometimes surf the internet. I recently checked out a website that was new to me, and as I read through the content and investigated the interaction, inspiration struck once again.

The result of that inspiration is Coming with Age, which is the latest addition to my Work in Progress. The blurb is available if you click on the cover, but the short version is that a middle-aged man is kicked out of his home when his wife discovers that he crossdresses.

I’m aiming for novella length in all three of my new titles, so I’ll have to control the characters and their urges to explore and experiment with each other. For now, I have no date set for publication of my next three Works. If I do restrain the characters and keep the book-length to novella, I’m sure that one of the three tales will be out by December.

I’m delighted to report that More Than a Sex Therapist will be available on 1st August.

This story was intended to be a novella, reaching around forty thousand words, but the characters needed more space to interact. At sixty-five thousand words, there was too much action to remove any chapters, so it’s stepped up to the next size of book.

Nothing drastic has been done to the original idea of the story, apart from the introduction of a slight twist to allow for more naughty shenanigans. The same four main characters carry the tale, and others are introduced in the background but only to create depth to the fictional world.

As I said in my update in June, I hope this is as enjoyable to read as it has been to write.

Thank you for your generous support, and special thanks to those who review my books or send me private feedback via my Contact page.

Katya News

Instead of waiting until More than a Sex Therapist is published I thought I’d offer my faithful followers an update and an insight. The good news is that the story is completed. As is the case with much of my work, it is based on old notes and my many previous attempts at writing stories.

Prior to having a mentor and becoming published, I saved a lot of ideas and short passages that I thought would be useful to create a story. Anyway, here I am with another tale, presently performing the hard part … the editing process to polish the manuscript and produce my best.

.

Once again, one of my aims is to prove that sometimes less is more.

As I’ve said before, the size should not affect the satisfaction. There may be fewer words in a novella than a novel, but it’s how they’re used that defines whether the storytelling is effective. In this tale, I’ve created four main characters, but all are important.

Adrian is the narrator, and also the central character. His mistake is not so much doing what he’s been doing, but, like most people, getting caught.

Rita is Adrian’s attractive wife, who needs help to deal with the discovery of her husband’s weakness. In desperation, she seeks advice by checking an unusual source.

Stephanie, a self-styled sex therapist, is introduced into the lives of the couple. She is unconventional in many ways, so it’s not clear if her methods will be successful.

Kenny, a long-time friend of Adrian, is the fourth person in this tale. He is a necessary piece of the whole picture, and strangely, I found him the most difficult to portray … at first.

To avoid spoilers, there isn’t much more I can say at the moment except to hope that the story, when finally published, is as enjoyable to read as it has been to write. If I work hard and still give it time to rest between edits, I aim to publish by the end of July 2022.

As always, thank you for your generous support, and special thanks to those who review my books or send me private feedback via my Contact page.

Breaking and Entering is now available.

It’s not as long as a novel, but at 49k words, it’s not a short story. This one is a novella. The story picks up rapidly, and for the most part it features two characters, so has a high degree of intimacy regarding their relationship.

The chapters are not too long, which I’m sure will be welcomed by those readers who like to feel that they’re being carried more rapidly by the tale. I’ve included the usual level of detail so nothing has been sacrificed to produce the story.

To continue with the diversity of offering slightly shorter tales, my next two stories are also to be novellas. Due to my tendency to develop two stories simultaneously, I have the framework of my next story organised. More Than a Sex Therapist will tell the tale of a young couple who accept guidance from an unusual source, with results that take their relationship to a new level.

At the present time, Transformation is still more of an idea than a story, so I’ve opted for the tactic of creating multiple start points to see which one appeals most to me. I’m confident that one of these two remaining Work in Progress will be hitting the virtual shelves by around August 2022.

In the meantime, there are many worlds of pleasure to feast on in my catalogue. Enjoy.

As always, thank you for your interest in my work.
