My intention was to keep Crossdresser at novella length, but it might creep up in size. The story is developing well, and as always I aim to introduce interesting characters, create believable scenarios, and realistic dialogue. Although I have a catalogue of similarly-themed tales, this one carries its theme proudly in the title. There is no hidden agenda, and it’s obvious from the outset that there will be a central character with a penchant for presenting as a different gender.
From private messages I’ve learned that many of my readers enjoy the development of the main character in this type of story. It’s with that knowledge I’ve used an obvious title, and created a character with a fading vanilla sexual relationship.
When a marriage becomes sexless, it can affect people in different ways. In this case, I’ve created a man who rapidly discovers a world he thought existed mainly on internet porn sites, in literary fiction, and secretly in reality for a few people.
Anthony’s not a prude, but approaches his new pastime, at each stage finding it hard to believe that it’s happening. He discovers that crossdressing and the practitioners of other kinks are not so rare or hidden away after all. There are kinky people and opportunities a conversation away.
I’m pleased with progress, and within the next two weeks I’ll have the main story written. From that point, I will edit, rewrite, edit and rewrite until I’m happy with the result. While the tale rests between edits I’ll be working on another of my work in progress. At present, I foresee Crossdresser being published in September.
