It started in the woods is a novella, and now available.

As I said in my September news, the inspiration for this tale came to me while walking in the local woodland on a particularly pleasant, warm morning. I’d only seen a few people on the narrow public footpath, but there were men and women walking, and the occasional jogger or cyclist. One man squeezing through the undergrowth to disappear among the trees captured my imagination.

I got home and made notes, so when I started writing the story, it flowed well. The first draft was one of the easiest I’ve produced, and I had to be patient and use my usual method of leaving the manuscript aside regularly in between drafts. Each time I worked on it, I found a new angle to introduce, so arriving at the final result was a pleasure. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

As usual, although I have several possible tales in my Work in Progress, I have two that are well underway. My next novella should be published in December 2024/January 2025, and it will be the one that appeals most to me over the coming weeks.

It will be either Anything Goes or Forced Feminisation.

Hello my favourite people, and I hope life is good with every one of you.

As I’ve said in my news before, I keep several Work in Progress on the go so that I can write parts of them when the notion takes me. I know I’ve also mentioned that I occasionally think of an idea, and feel the urge to move that story to the front of the queue. This is the case with the tale I’ve been working on for a few weeks.

The inspiration for It started in the woods came to me when, strangely, I was walking in the woods. I regularly stroll in local woodland to let the daily grind fade. Yes, there is more than one type of grind. Anyway, I was walking along the path and saw a man up ahead squeezing through the undergrowth and disappearing among the trees. By the time I’d returned home, I had the intro and general theme of the new story established in my mind.

With some stories, the words simply flow, which feels wonderful, and this is one such tale. I’m enjoying the characters and their antics, but I’m in no rush. However much an author is enjoying the writing of a story, it should never adversely affect the finished article. I’ll take my time, and it won’t be published until it’s ready, but I think it will be something I’ll stick with until the job is done. I will, of course, leave it aside for a few days at a time between edits, and I’m aiming to publish this one in mid-November.

It took me a little bit longer than intended, but Transformation is now available. As I’ve said before, this was a story that I’ve had in my Work in Progress files for quite a while. Occasionally, a tale comes to mind that is more difficult to complete. I revisited this one many times while writing other stories, and when I reached the final editing phase, it took another two weeks.

While this story was resting between edits, I worked on three other stories to see which one would provide inspiration. Instead of suggesting what will be coming next, or giving a time scale, I’ve decided to get on with the writing. Whichever tale I produce you can rest assured that I’ve spent time developing it to be as good as it can be.

I’m pleased to announce the publication of Older, Bolder, Crossdresser which is in excess of 90,000 words so is one of my longer tales. As we all appreciate more than some people, sometimes size does matter.

A mature man falls under the spell of a gorgeous erotica author, and is offered a strange challenge.

Once again, I had a lot of fun developing the characters and creating the situations to give them the chance to gain experience and continue their journeys. I find it both liberating and thoroughly enjoyable to create worlds in which people can do as they wish without being penalised or judged.

Transformed is next in line, and is well underway. In the early drafts it’s difficult to tell how long a story will be, but as always, I’ll be aiming to ensure there is a coherent tale to support the graphic sex. This one has been in my Work in Progress category for quite a while, so I’m delighted to finally have it almost completed and left to rest before editing sessions. My target publication date is mid-July.

Hello all you lovely erotica readers, and, of course, fellow authors.

Unusually, this ins’t a post featuring an imminent release, although there will be a new title from me next month. I wanted to explain my reasons for a couple of minor amendments to my pricing.

There are those in the digital reading community who don’t know the difference between a short story, and a novella, or the difference between a novella and a novel. It’s true, that we have people who simply enjoy a genre, and will happily take whatever appeals to them irrespective of size. For authors, this is, of course, a godsend, if those readers enjoy your work.

Anthology

At the other end of the scale, we have readers of digital books who will only buy, or rent, an eBook if it is in a certain price bracket. For example, they wouldn’t buy a short story or novella that’s over a certain price. By the same token, they won’t buy, or rent, a novel if it’s below a certain price. When I see articles and blog posts dealing with this type of subject I take a keen interest, both as a reader, and as an author.

With all of this in mind, I spent a lot of yesterday assessing my back catalogue, reassigning descriptions, and amending prices, but only slightly.

Novella

What do I offer in terms of story length related to price?

My anthologies of short stories contain six tales each, and are my lowest priced titles.

Next up in price are my novellas, which range from 41,000 words to 89,000 words.

My single volume novels cost slightly more, ranging from 90,000 words to 114,000 words.

In terms of price, my two-part novels are priced at the same as my novellas for each book. This means that you’re buying two separate, but associated titles, each of novella length.

Why am I trying something like this when my readership is steadily growing?

I already know from my Amazon reports that the majority of my readers rent my books through the Kindle Unlimited option, so in effect, a price rise doesn’t affect most of my followers. If, after three months of these changes I can see a marked decrease in my sales or popularity, I’ll happily revert to a lower price range.

In other news, Older, Bolder, Crossdresser is in the editing stages, so I hope to publish by late in May, or early in June. It will be in the full-length novel category, being around 93,000 words.

My latest novella, Caught En Femme, is now available.

It features crossdressing, an accidental discovery by a family member, and a student friendship that becomes much more. In this tale we find ourselves asking that age-old question, When is a secret not a secret?

It’s simple. A secret ceases to be a secret when the information is shared.

This latest story has appeared only a few weeks after Paying the Price because of my practice of working simultaneously on two or more stories. There are so many authors who ask what they ought to do between drafts. I put the break between drafts to good use by working on another story. There is no danger of getting mixed up with the plots or the characters because I create an information file for each tale.

I’m already well underway with Older, Bolder, Crossdresser, and Transformation. In the early drafts it’s always difficult to tell which one will take priority, but as always, I’ll be aiming to ensure there is a story to support the graphic sex.

I’m pleased to say that Paying the Price is now available.

This is another novella, and while it features crossdressing, and forced feminisation, I’ve introduced glory holes with this tale. As you might expect there is plenty of graphic sexual activity, and hints of romance. I’ve included heterosexual, gay, and menage, and to create more interest, cuckolding. To give more of an insight for those who like to know, I’ve tagged the other naughty areas included.

I’m working simultaneously on Caught En Femme, and Older, Bolder, Crossdresser. One of those two will be next for publication. The tales are both different from Paying the Price, and from each other. As usual, I’ll apply myself to telling the stories until one captures my attention more strongly. Whichever one ends up on top, I aim to publish in April 2024.

I have two special announcements for you, my lovely readers and followers.

First and foremost, Opportunities is now available on Amazon. This is a novella, and as always, I’ve worked hard to create a complete and enjoyable story.

Opportunities is a tale of discovery in more ways than one and features all the usual ingredients you’ve come to expect from me, like crossdressing, transformation, feminisation and, of course, explicit sexual adventures.

As any visitor to my website will have recognised, I maintain a variety of Work in Progress. The order that those next titles appear in the sidebar is not necessarily the order that they’ll be published.

Why have so many new ideas to choose from and work on?

When I started writing it was suggested by a seasoned author that I ought to always have at least two story ideas on hand, but as time has passed, I’ve jotted down notes as new ideas come to mind. My usual practice is to create a cover and a blurb to instill a desire to work on the story.

I aim to produce the first draft of the first chapter rapidly so that my readers can see how the tale opens. I’m pleased to report that I have seven Work in Progress, and all of them have their first chapter available.

Which title will be next, and when will it be published?

Novella

At the present time, I’m drawn towards Paying the Price, and my target publication date is mid-February 2024.

This story has had three working titles, but having seen how the tale is developing, I believe it’s now accurately named. Once again, it will be a novella.

I’m delighted to report that Crossdressing is selling steadily. Many readers are taking advantage of it being available free on Kindle Unlimited, like the rest of my titles.

In an earlier update I promised that Opportunities would be published in early December, and I can confirm that is still the case. The story is presently ‘resting’ and I’ll be performing final edits in about two weeks to ensure it’s ready for all you lovely people.

As any of my regular readers will know, I top up my Work in Progress as story ideas occur to me. It seems that the more I write, the more inspired I become, so that’s got to be good. I’ll be aiming to return to novella-length with my next titles which simply implies a reduction in story length, not in the quality of the tale.

I try with every story to demonstrate that although the genre and sub-categories are similar, the individual characters enjoy different journeys on their chosen sexual adventures. I’ve found that it’s easier to achieve this by creating characters from a wide variety of backgrounds and ages.

At the moment, I’m working simultaneously on Older, Bolder, Crossdresser, and Paying the Price. The tales are both different from Opportunities, and from each other. Crossdressing is now available on Amazon, and many of you will be pleased to learn that it’s a novel of 113k words, unlike my shorter, novella length stories.

As with all of my tales, I hope you enjoy the characters I’ve created, the situations, and the consequences of the activities. From the outset, I worked hard to ensure that the main character’s journey would be a logical and natural progression.

My imaginary website, Kinks and Queens appears at stages in the story but doesn’t feature as heavily as in other tales. I’ve found it to be a useful vehicle for establishing creditable contacts between characters, and it’s based on a real website I once joined.

I’d intended to publish this story in September, but it’s taken slightly longer. I believe the extra time was worth it, and the final result is a more complex and fulfilling tale.
